DO I REALLY NEED A WEBSITE?
A website is an investment in your business that represents you or your company when you can't be directly in front of a client or consumer. A website can create an extended business card /brochure for your company, advertise your company or product, provide customer services and support, keep your customer base informed, provide internal information and services for your company, promote your ideas, hobbies, beliefs, etc.

HOW MUCH DOES A WEBSITE COST?
Ah, the million dollar question! Unfortunately its not an easy answer with so many factors involved that determine the final price of any particular website. And since our sites are all custom designed and built (no pre-made template sites here!) we can't give an accurate quote/estimate until we talk about what you want your site to do. The number of pages, even the specific content on each page factors into the price (stock photos, cgi forms, photo gallery, animation, etc). A static (text only) page is more easily produced than one with more involved content, therefore the price increase as content gets more complex on any given page. A quick discussion with a Waking Design representative can determine a ballpark figure for your new website.

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO GET STARTED
To begin with you are going to need to have 2 bases covered. You need to "register the domain name" (or web address) you want as well as find a hosting company to put your new site on their servers for the world to see. Often the same company can handle both. Domain names come very cheap, but expect to pay a more substantial monthly fee for hosting, about $80-$100 per year.

Next you need to begin content and asset gathering, including any text, digital images, logos, existing promotional materials (brochures, etc) that we can pull colors and other elements from when designing the site so that there is a consistent feel across all your marketing efforts.

MY NEW SITE IS UP AND RUNNING, NOW WHAT?
Once your site is complete and online, and beautifully representing your company there are always adjustments in the form of text updates, revisions, additions, etc that come about. This is considered "site maintenance". For an hourly fee we will make any changes you need within a reasonable turn-around time.
